The mosque is at the Monastiraki square, right at the centre of the old town of Athens. It was built in 1759 during the period that Greece was governed by the Turks. In 1915 was restored by Anastasias Orlandos. In 1959 the collection of the Greek Folk Museum was exhibited there. Later on the Folk Museum was transferred to new building. Today in the old mosque a collection of 800 vases and other objects made of clay of the 20th century, the collection of V. Kyriazopoulos is displayed.

The museum is situated in a renovated neoclassical building in the old town of Athens, Plaka. It has no permanent collection on display. It usually organizes exhibitions of paintings and three dimensions art made by children up to fourteen years old.

The Greek Children's Museum was founded in 1987 and is situated in a renovated neoclassical building in Plaka. It is one of the 300 Children’s museums that exist all over the world. Its goal is to intrigue the children and to teach them through an interactive method. It is suitable for children up to the age of twelve.

The war museum contains an extended range of war machinery and weapons that were invented and used by men from the prehistoric times until the 20th century. It also includes some pieces of art that represent historical battles, photographical archive, film documentaries and historical maps.

The building of the National Art Gallery and Alexander Soutzos Museum is a modern three store building that was completed in 1976. It contains a collection of 117 paintings that belonged to Athens University and the private collection of Alexander Soutzos that was donated to the Greek State after his death.

The institution is known for its well organized exhibitions of famous art works that are borrowed from museums and galleries from all aver the world. On the ground floor, the first room usually is occupied by the current exhibition. The exhibition might also continue to the basement, where there is also the café of the museum facing the back yard.
