Renovation and Expansion of the National Gallery Building

A characteristic example of the International Style, the National Gallery building was designed by the architects Professors N. Moutsopoulos, Pavlos Mylonas and Dimitris Fatouros. (The first designer withdrew later). Founded in 1964, it was inaugurated in 1976.

Museum Alex Mylona – Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art presents the exhibition “Τ.Α.Μ.Α. Superflow”, curated by art historian, Alexios Papazacharias. The exhibition will open on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Museum Alex Mylona – Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens and will run until October 26.  The official opening will take place on Friday, June 27 at 20:00.

A Thousand Doors, at the Gennadius Library

NEON and the Whitechapel Gallery are collaborating to present an exhibition of works by Greek and international artists at the Gennadius Library curated by Iwona Blazwick OBE, the Director of the Whitechapel Gallery. The exhibition will be installed throughout the venue, both inside the library spaces and outside them in its formal gardens. The selected works are executed in a wide range of media, and include video, sound and sculpture installations.
