Museum of Geology and Paleontology of the Athens University

The history of the Museum starts in 1858. It all begun with the donation of the collections of the Natural History Society to the University of Athens. These collections were the foundation of the Natural History Museum. During these early years and despite financial difficulties, the collections of the Museum increased considerably, thanks to many donations, purchases and the collection of material during scientific expeditions in Greece.

Museum of the city of Athens Vouros-Eutaxias

The Museum of the city of Athens has a collection of engravings, paintings and photographs of Athens of the previous century. Moreover, the visitor can wander through rooms with furniture and objects typical of the 19th century and admire some paintings of famous Greek artists. Besides the permanent collection, the museum organizes exhibitions on its third floor.

Athens Railway Museum

The Railway Museum of Athens, was founded by the Hellenic Railways Organisation (OSE) in 1978. The museum has a collection of items related to the history of rail transport in Greece.

National Historic Museum

The National Historic Museum is located in the old Parliament building of Athens since 1960. The museum has assembled various artifacts from the Post-Byzantine years (form 1453) until the Greek –Italian war of the 1940-41.

Hellenic Cosmos

Hellenic Cosmos, FHW's Cultural Centre, was inaugurated in 1998, originally occupying a site of 16,000m2. It was housed in a former industrial building, which albeit maintaining important elements of its original use, it was transformed into an ultra-modern, living museum that aims to be a source of learning and satisfy the needs of the contemporary "society of knowledge".
